More Than a Grant: BrassCraft’s Investment in Inclusion

by | Jul 3, 2026

There is something especially meaningful about a corporate partner who not only funds the work, but shows up for it. BrassCraft Manufacturing, a business unit of Masco Corporation, has done exactly that, and we are proud to celebrate their continued investment in our mission.

This year, BrassCraft has awarded Living & Learning a $5,000 grant, with funding directed toward two areas that reflect the full arc of what we do: our end-of-summer camp family picnic and our Employment Services program. In addition to their financial support, BrassCraft staff will be present at the picnic, volunteering their time alongside our campers and families to close out the summer in the best possible way. Rebecca Conway, VP of Human Resources, shared this regarding their involvement, “At BrassCraft, we believe in investing in the communities where we live and work. We are proud to support the Living & Learning Enrichment Center by helping create a fun end-of-summer experience for their campers while also contributing to the important work the organization does every day.”

Living & Learning’s inclusive summer camp serves children and young adults with disabilities across 12 counties in Southeast Michigan each year, offering eight weeks of adaptive programming on our 12-acre Northville campus. Our Camp Willow and Camp Lotus create a special space where youth and young adults build communication skills, form friendships, grow in confidence, and experience the kind of belonging that too many individuals with disabilities are denied elsewhere. Nearly 100% of camp parents report that the program provides essential respite, and 74% have observed new skills and personal growth in their campers. The end-of-summer celebration is a moment for families, staff, and supporters to come together and honor everything the summer made possible.

Having BrassCraft’s team there in person makes that moment even richer. The second component of BrassCraft’s investment supports our Employment Services program, one of our fastest-growing and highest-impact areas of work. In 2025, we achieved 72 successful job placements across diverse industries and launched new services including Job Maintenance Support and Corporate Placement Services, which connect neurodiverse candidates with advanced skills to higher-paying career opportunities. Stable, meaningful employment changes everything for an individual with a disability: it builds self-worth, strengthens financial independence, and creates a sense of purpose that ripples into every other area of life. BrassCraft’s investment in this work helpsus extend our reach and serve more job seekers who are ready and capable of contributing to our regional workforce.

Over the last five years, BrassCraft has contributed more than $12,000 to Living & Learning’s mission. That sustained commitment reflects a genuine belief in inclusive communities and in the value of investing in the people who live and work in them. We are grateful for BrassCraft’s partnership, for their resources, and most of all for their willingness to be present. We look forward to seeing their team at the picnic and continuing to strengthen this relationship in the years ahead.
