Celebrating Continued Partnership: The Village Club Foundation Supports Girl Talk

by | Mar 29, 2026

We are thrilled to share some wonderful news: The Village Club Foundation has once again demonstrated its remarkable commitment to our community by awarding a $3,000 grant to the Living and Learning Enrichment Center. This generous contribution brings their total lifetime investment in our mission to an impressive $12,000 since 2021, and we could not be more grateful.

Investing in Girl Talk

This latest grant is dedicated to our Girl Talk Program, an ongoing initiative that has empowered more than 100 women with disabilities since it launched. Each week, Girl Talk brings women together for sessions built around three pillars that make a real difference in their lives:

  • Social Connection: Building lasting bonds in a supportive, welcoming environment.
  • Wellness: Prioritizing both physical and mental health in meaningful, accessible ways.
  • Personal Development: Nurturing individual growth, confidence, and a stronger sense of self.

The results speak for themselves. Participants, along with their parents and caregivers, consistently report increased self-confidence, stronger peer relationships, and a new willingness to step into social situations they may have once found daunting.

What’s Next for Girl Talk

With this $3,000 investment, we will expand the Girl Talk experience even further. Members will enjoy engaging new activities and specialized guest speaker sessions designed to explore topics that are foundational to living an

 independent and fulfilling life:

  • Health
  • Relationships
  • Leadership Skills
  • Self-Advocacy

A Legacy of Generosity

Since 1983, The Village Club Foundation has awarded more than $4 million in grants across Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb counties, addressing basic human needs and creating educational opportunities for countless individuals and families. We are honored to be a part of that extraordinary legacy.

To the board and members of The Village Club Foundation: thank you. Your continued belief in our mission, and in the women of Girl Talk, makes all the difference. Together, we are building a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
