We are thrilled to announce that Eagles for Children has awarded Living and Learning a $16,000 grant to enhance our 2025 summer camp experiences. Their continued and generous support represents more than funding – it’s an investment in creating joyful, meaningful summers for teens and young adults with disabilities.
Eagles for Children continues to make an incredible difference across Michigan, having awarded over $7.2 million to youth-focused organizations in the past 13 years. In 2024 alone, they distributed $1,378,475 to 190 nonprofit organizations. We’re proud to be among the organizations they’ve chosen to support, thanks to our wonderful sponsors at Meadowbrook Country Club, Walnut Creek Country Club, and Orchard Lake Country Club.
A Summer of Growth and Discovery
Our summer camps, nestled on our welcoming 12-acre property between Novi and Northville, offer more than just activities – they provide transformative experiences where participants develop independence, build lasting friendships, and discover new interests. Through carefully designed programs, campers engage in activities that naturally weave in social skill development and personal growth opportunities.
The Eagles for Children grant will help make these experiences more accessible to families by supporting:
- Dedicated program staff who provide personalized attention and support
- Engaging supplies for our themed weekly activities
- Enriching field trips that expand horizons and build community connections
Making a Lasting Impact
Our camp experience stands out because we understand that every social interaction and activity is an opportunity for growth. Campers don’t just participate in activities – they develop skills that serve them well beyond their time at camp:
- Building confidence through mastering new skills
- Developing friendships through shared experiences
- Learning self-advocacy in a supportive environment
- Practicing independence in a safe, structured setting
Looking Ahead to Summer 2025
This support from Eagles for Children arrives at an exciting time. Our 2024 summer camps introduced innovative weekly themes like “Living and Learning’s Got Talent” and “Animal Planet,” and we’re excited to build on these successes. The grant will help ensure our 2025 programming continues to engage, inspire, and support each camper’s growth.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Eagles for Children and our club sponsors for their commitment to making transformative summer experiences possible for more families. Their support reinforces what we see every day – when we invest in inclusive programming, we create stronger, more vibrant communities for everyone.
