The Living and Learning Enrichment Center is excited to share that we have received a $5,000 grant from the PNC Foundation to support our important work in vocational skills training. For decades, PNC has provided resources to seed ideas, foster development initiatives and encourage leadership in nonprofit organizations where imagination and determination are at work enhancing people’s lives every day. The Foundation’s priority is to form partnerships with community-based nonprofit organizations in order to enhance educational opportunities and promote the growth of communities through economic development initiatives.
The vocational training arm of Living & Learning’s programming serves individuals from more than 55 cities at more than 40 different job site locations in the region. These education and field work training experiences for individuals with disabilities, led by our highly qualified instructors and job coaches, spread across industries like Information Technology, Hospitality, Recreation, Food Service, Arts & Culture, Agriculture, Retail, and more. Our members often graduate into fulfilling long term positions with employers with whom they have built strong working relationships, filling significant labor gaps that can put strains on our communities and the local economy. Generous funding and support from community and corporate foundations like PNC’s support our ability to continue offering these essential services.
Chairman, President, and CEO of PNC, Bill Demchak shares, “Our culture is built on a set of values and a commitment to our employees to always do what we know to be right by those we serve.” The Living & Learning Enrichment Center remains grateful to the PNC Foundation for this clear dedication and commitment.
